In this series I have re-imagined the grotesques (see American Grotesques) as they might have been used on cards to promote a “freak” show style carnival attraction, or medicine show. The name Dr. Rufus T. Fruitfly, is based on Groucho Marx's character Rufus T. Firefly in the movie Duck Soup, furthering the elements of humor, and parody, contained in these series.
